After reading Claire Major’s chapter, I understand how online learning getting popular in advance education. With the development of technology, online courses have also developed. More and more universities have also started online courses. Although I only have online courses at Victoria University, I think Victoria University’s web UI design is good. Online teaching is indeed more convenient and quick for students’ learning. For example, students can learn anywhere in any place without being bound by time and place.
I am a computer science student. In our course, we use a webpage called Connex. This page is equivalent to Coursespace. The professors will post homework and some teaching materials so that students can learn freely. Although there are no CSC Online courses in Uvic, the existence of connex has made our students more convenient to learn.
There are mentioned online forums in the book. Many of the learning materials in computer science are network source, only a small part of them are from textbooks. The computer is a relatively young professional compared with other disciplines. So many students are Learning through the Internet. For me, I prefer to use video to get knowledge than online forums, so video sites are also a good online resource such as youtube videos.
